Our Story

The Cleveland Maennerchor is one of America's oldest and most distinguished German singing societies. Founded in 1873 by German immigrants seeking to preserve their musical traditions in their new homeland, we have been a cornerstone of Cleveland's German-American community for over 150 years.

Our name, "Maennerchor" (German for "men's choir"), reflects our origins as a traditional German male chorus. Throughout our history, we have maintained the highest standards of choral excellence while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Germany and German-Americans.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to preserving and promoting German-American culture through music, fellowship, and community events. Our mission extends beyond singing to fostering cultural understanding and creating a welcoming space for anyone interested in German traditions.

Our Historic Venue

Our beautiful clubhouse at 4515 State Road in Cleveland has served as our home for decades. This historic venue features a magnificent hall perfect for concerts, banquets, and celebrations. The space is available for rental, making it an ideal location for weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
