It's Labor Day weekend, and that means the Cleveland Oktoberfest is in full swing at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. If you're headed out, look for the Cleveland Maennerchor beer caddy, our mobile draft trailer under the white tent. That's our crew in the red lanyards pouring the pints, and they're at it all weekend.

Every pour helps the club
Member Linda Ptuyac shared these photos Friday night along with a big thank-you to the volunteers, and we're passing it along. Here's how it works: cash tips go straight to the club, and our volunteers are compensated for their time, either hourly or through credit card tips, whichever is greater. So every dollar dropped in the jar helps keep the lights on at 4515 State Road.
To everyone who has picked up a shift, or will before the festival wraps up Monday: thank you. Nobody signs up for a night behind the taps because it's easy. You do it because you love this club, and it shows. If you spot a Maennerchor volunteer this weekend, say hello, and maybe leave a little something in the jar.
And if this weekend puts you in the mood for more, mark your calendar. Our own Oktoberfest at the hall is Saturday, October 3. Same spirit, home turf. Prost!
